I’m writing this for my husband the patient per his request. The scheduling process and everyone was very helpful, kind and efficient. However from a retired nurse of 44 years the CT tech needs some people skills. I’ve been my husbands caretaker for several years while he’s been battling cancer. Now that he’s in remission it’s time to address his aortic aneurysm. However the tech was kind of rude to me when he explained I was the medical Person in charge of his care and dismissive. My husband said she also didn’t explain anything. She didn’t explain to him that she would ask him to hold his breath at times during the scan and that while he was in the scanner she would speak to him over the microphone. He said this voice came loudly from nowhere and was very annoyed he wasn’t holding his breath. I worked in the ER at STMH for the last 30 years before I retired and the techs always explained the procedure to the patient. Her skills were fine. She got his IV in one attempt and was very efficient. My husband had his inpatient chemo at Piedmont and many other procedures. This is the first rude person we’ve encountered.

Very good experience. The nurse that prepped me and put in my IV was just wonderful. I can't say enough good things about her. I am a nurse so I know what that job entails. She made me feel very comfortable and made it a very calm, comfortable environment.

I’ve always received at least 90% of my healthcare through Piedmont/Athen Regional/Athens General where I was born. I was a little disappointed after leaving from my mammogram and Bone Density Scans. NOT by the people at all. They were compassionate and cared for me with love! I was disappointed about the fact. What was once a sanctuary for women to come and have tranquility when waiting on test has become another corporate operation of sterility. Hard chairs in rows full of women sitting silently. Some with fear all over their faces. There once was couches, water feathers, spa music and little mini bars of coffee and water. My experience wasn’t bad and my results were not bad but I kept thinking about the times when I came because I had been warned of possible cancer. How would I have felt going into a medical line of cows waiting to be checked. I believe we need to bring back the level of comfort is faculties. You should not make any person feel like we all did that day. Again, my providers that day handled me with true love for what they do. I will continue my scans with these lovely people but maybe someone who holds the purse strings will go down as a patient and

We had a wonderful experience! Every person we encountered from our 1st step into Piedmont Athens was amazing and kind. From people sitting behind a desk, in the hallways, the sweet volunteer, the lady in the cafe- everyone!! The nurse Tyler was awesome and so kind with my Mom. The PA Sara was kind and very thorough. Even my mom made the comment how nice they were to her when she went back for her procedure.

The nurses were incredible! Jennifer and Jessica in OP surgery center awesome. So caring and compassionate. My friend who brought me for the surgery ended up with a severe IBS episode and we thought she might have to go to the ER. Jennifer tended to her while we waited for her husband to rescue us. Absolutely can't say enough positive things about her and the entire staff there!!
